Fundación Málaga, together with the Área de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Málaga, organised the showing, held between May and June of 2003 in Museo Municipal de Málaga
This exhibition offered the audience the opportunity to contemplate significant works of the pictorial art of the nineteenth-century Málaga, which are in private collections. 150 paintings from both Málaga and foreign artists, who worked here, were gathered up. Artists such as José Denis Belgrano, Bernardo Ferrándiz, Carlos de Haes, Antonio Muñoz Degrain, José Moreno Carbonero, Enrique Simonet, José Ruiz Blasco, etc.
