Poetic description of the Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de Málaga, published in the IV Centenary of its first publication
This facsimile work, presented at the 2007 Málaga Book Fair, has been published by Fundación Málaga and the San Telmo School of Arts.
This edition of Gaspar de Tovar’s book, “Racionero de la Catedral de Málaga”, come to existence of day in our city in 1607, in Juan René’s workshops, celebrating the IV Centenary of its printing in 2007.
The book has a complete and elaborate critical study carried out by the doctors of the University of Málaga, Dª. Carmen González Román and Juan Antonio Sánchez López, preceded by an introduction by Alfonso Canales, Honorary President of the San Telmo School of Arts.
This work is not a reprint of the one published in 1603 by Claudio Bolán in Antequera, but the one printed in Málaga by Juan René, completes and enriches the 1603 edition. The original of this work can be found in the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris.
